Update Data in Excel

Ensure that you have loaded data in worksheet before trying to create data.
Do not edit, or delete any table headers and data ID.

  1. Change the updatable value of the work item that you needed to edit.
  2. Click on “Review Local Changes” from the Excel task pane.

  1. After clicking on Review Local Changes, the entire edited row should be light orange.
  2. The changes section in the task pane should include all items with format [Update - ID] that you have edited data item on excel table earlier.

  1. Click on Sync icon to update work items.
    5a. Click on Sync all icon to synchronize all items in Changes section.
    5b. Click on Sync item icon to synchronize that individual item.

Data Validation

⚠ Ensure that when updating a data item, avoid filling in ID, Modified, Created By, Created At, Completed Date, TID since these fields are auto completed by the system.
The following fields are validated in Excel and updatable:
• Title
• Start Date
• Due Date
• Priority
• Status
• Story
• Story Name
• Phase
• Phase Name
• Assigned To
• Reported By (if created item is a Bug)
• Severity (if created item is a Bug)
• Duration
• Complete
